Loaded with the latest in technology Apple has unleashed the power with more RAM and a new Nvidia GeForce 9400M chipset which is the same one found in the new unibody MacBook and MacBook Pro.

Even though the design is basically the same as last year's model it is still one of the sexiest laptops on the market. Part of the reason for this is the tapered edges and the fact that it only weighs 3 pounds. The MacBook Air will still fit inside a standard size legal envelope making it one of the most powerful ultra portables available.

Thanks to some Apple innovations in the cooling system the new MacBook Air runs at a low 120-135° F only going up to 175-185° F when you are doing some heavy duty video processing. It also no longer suffers from the lockups that the previous models often had to deal with. Thanks to the adjustable backlight adjustment you can expect to get around 4.235 to 4.5 hours out of your built in battery unless you are watching a movie at which point the battery live is cut in half.

The latest in solid state drives have definitely improved the MacBook Air's overall performance and in fact has helped to create a speed demon that is capable of transferring a 5 GB file from the desktop to the SSD in just over 2 minutes, this means a transfer rate of 39.7 MB per second one of the best rates in the world of ultraportable laptops. While it may have a few idiosyncrasies the MacBook Air will definitely fill a need in the Road Warrior market.
